Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you so much for your donation and continued support of The Greener Side Haven, Inc.

As most of you know, 2021 was a very rough year for The Greener Side. Due to the pandemic, we have lost all but one volunteer that helps on a regular basis. If you would like to volunteer, please call me at 352-746-3545. We need help with events, social media, grant writing, walking dogs, grooming and a myriad of small jobs. Even if you can only volunteer consistently for a couple of hours per week, we would be grateful. 

Even without volunteers, we were successful in adopting out 16 dogs to wonderful forever homes. We took in 23 dogs and 9 cats all of which are in foster homes under our continued care.

As you may know, one of the dogs that we took in last year was Grandma. She had a huge dangling hernia between her hind legs that we had surgically repaired. She was also heartworm positive and has extremely bad arthritis. Grandma has become a favorite for so many people. Although it is hard for her, she continues to go for her strolls, loves her food, lasering and massages. We are trying to keep her as comfortable as possible until she tells us it is time.

In January of this year, our beloved Maurie swallowed part of a Kong toy. He had to have surgery to remove that piece of the toy. Unfortunately, the first surgery did not last and he ended up having two additional surgeries all within 5 days. He is still recovering. To date, his medical bills are just over $13,000.

We are calling on the community, their friends, family, neighbors and acquaintances to help us raise money to help with these expenses plus the continued care of all of our foster fur babies. Every dollar counts.

Please continue to support our efforts in any manner you can. Donations help the most, but if you cannot donate, please spread the word about us and the good work that we do. If you have a business and will allow us to put up a donation jar, we would greatly appreciate it.
